Re: Small Arms Expert for South African Police
Letter dated 28th September, 1937.
A suggestion by Lance Sergeant V.E. Garde, attached to the SAP Training Depot Pretoria, to establish a Forensic Ballistic department in the South African Police. The suggestion was obviously prompted by the fact that all firearm and ballistic related cases were examined by Major M.S. Barraclough who was attached to the Union Defence Force in Pretoria, and who was now deceased.
